My once a month chat to Robert Bucknell comparing notes on what we had shot, I mention about not going foxing fire work week as the sky was full of fireworks which he said was a fair point...
So nice and dark with a gentle breeze was good to go in my books...
I changed to an old make up mirror which was Mums and a bit of polystyrene too screech away in the darkness from my pocket.
A cross wind was enough to get the first vixen to turn and face me (which is my favourite shot for foxes) 155 of sticks, I called a bit more but nothing so she went on top of the last vixen from 10 days ago then back to the truck.
A second fox on the line of the first ( maybe the dog fox!) so back across the field to close on the same position as the first 150 then back to the truck after leaving her with the first.
Short drive to the next field, bit of a fuss with the parking tight to the gate but off I went, out in the distance bypassing the hares a third fox on a line to some where, so I legged it on an angle to gain a bit of ground and back stop (abt 200 yds) taking a few breaths to get back in a rhythm vixen number 3 @ 157.
Heading home the last couple of blocks I walked about 700 yards to cut off the next fox who turned in on a run to the squeaking from Mums mirror. 168 and the biggest vixen of the night.
