The access roads on the North are a godsend. The new forest road to the South still requires a drag up the hill but as others have said it’s worth it I understand. When I shot this beat, my partner and I only did the Northern side. Sat at the airport about to go to Oz so unable to provide more at present.
To add to the above, we were also given the Kilpatrick beat too so spent time between that and the North portion of Glenscorodale. It’s worth it to get to the open heath towards Shedog - there’s a lovely clearing there that I took in, we saw numerous other deer and colleagues who shot the same beat on stag week 4 just gone did well up there too There’s some “frost snap” damage that drops the top part of the trees making it difficult to get through but it’s worth it. Think Louisianna swamp with banjos playing, moss hanging from the trees and you’ll have a good idea of the terrain
