Go easy on me guys n gals!

Well done and may i ask why not the quads they would have been much steadier.

It's the main regret mate and no problem with asking. When we set off Jon said if we get on deer I may not have time to get onto the quad sticks and settle, so he suggested we use his. As we approached I left mine on the floor and he got his ready for me. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but due to the ground cover in front and the fact we wasn't skylined behind, I had time to do a flaming highland jig, let alone get on the quads!! I have no doubt that had I been on them I would not have missed and it's a great shame as I was hoping to big Tony's sticks up on camera too. (Sorry mate I did mention them but it got edited out!!)

There may be a sequal in the pipeline and if so, I will be using all my own kit so there'll be no excuses!!

The trigger pull on the X-Bolt was proper heavy especially when I'm getting used to a set trigger!!!

Thanks for the kind comments though fella's! :thumb:

Well done, good effort with lots of pressure! Your shooting on the silhouette was good. How do you know you missed the pricket? Did you check with a dog? Seen plenty of misses result in a dead deer when checked with a dog!

All round good effort with help from the SD!

deer man is correct and i am sure that the pro did check but that might have been a very interesting part to the video.

Stratts - very good. Well done for making all that happen. And not least a very pro SD programme!

Hollywood blockbusters with Z million dollar budgets drop clangers. Will never excuse silly footage that does no good to any of us, but it has to be said that filming a 'perfect' scene and carrying that through production and not least edit is a herculean task.

You came across really well overall and only those that have done it can really appreciate the pressure of that camera and mike rolling.

And thank you for the vindication regards additional poundage! ;)

We checked the area around the shot initially and there were no signs of a hit, then went around the immediate area and into the trees til dark. He then went out early the next morning to follow up and never reported anything back so 99.99% sure it was a clean miss. You know yourself when it's bad execution and it was just pants and I knew straight away I'd missed tbh!!

To lighten things up a bit I had to chuckle last night with the things my kids said!!! I have 5 year old twins who watched it with me. At the point in the film on the assessment where there were 2 sillhoettes together Josh disagreed with Charlie when he said it was a no shot and blurted out 'You could get 2 with 1 bullet there dad!!' - Brilliant!! Then putting Nath to bed we talked about it a bit and he advised me that 'I'd missed because I was wobbling too much' and 'next time you go out make sure you don't wobble then you won't miss again!!' - Cheers son, priceless!! :D

Stratts as has been said well done enjoyed the video
Thought it came across very well also did the SD some good
Don't worry about the miss those that have never missed haven't done a lot of shooting
Regards pete

Everyone's got the T shirt for that one Stratts!:D, Put it down to "Experience" mate. Wonder why that field sports channel guy can't keep still?, must be an anthill round somewhere.

good show! the only bit i thought didnt come across as clear, is why you are getting all the free kit and free stalking?
was it through a deer stalking charity?

Stratts Don't know if anybody has pointed it out but I'm sure they used part of the clip
On the main bbc news about the badger cull report the other night
So your even more famous than you thought
Regards pete

A face for radio!
My son is still impressed that he has met a celebrity stalker even though you missed!
keep up the good work and well done for showing another side of stalking.

well done bud, even on camera,

sad to say shooting at a metal target with a fac air rifle and a rimfire is not my idea of safe shooting.

Rubbish! I've used a sheet metal target board for thousands of shots and never had a problem.

Well done matey, a lot of pressure on you what with the cameras and new kit. A miss is a miss, won't be the last I'm sure. Happens to us all........except me of course !

Ooh look at you lol , well done bud on your lvl1 I'm sure the miss will be at the back of your mind already :)

Well done Stratts mate, never mind on the miss mate, everyones done it.

Was really interesting to see about your DSC1. Ill be hitting you up for tips next year if i finally manage to get onto a course which isnt fully booked!

Are they inviting you back for a second chance to redeem yourself ?
