Gold Medal Roe Buck.

Nice to learn Trevor is still coming to Scotland stalking and to Aberdeenshire. He had an outing with me on my stalking lease a year or two ago and of course, we met up in Banchory for a drink and a chat

Here's the score sheet.

Great result - if unsure always get it measured as I have found over the years many draw breath through teeth and underestimate the results.

Congratulations on a super trophy. So how long does a skull need to dry for before it can be assessed? I thought it was 3 months but you had the score sheet back within a month. I ask because I have a skull drying now for which I have modest ambitions but I am still itching to find out.

The drying period for any species now with CIC is 30 days. It changed from 90 days a couple of years ago. Strangely even for CWD and Muntys its the same period even though they don't weigh the skulls on these species.

Oh in that case I am getting excited. 529 grams after 18 days. I would be very happy with bronze (which would be my first medal head) but if it could nudge silver, then it would be awesome.
