Good boots for under ????

Best boots I've ever owned, and still have. Pair of Hiax ex-german army desert boots gortex lined/cordura so no creaking leather. But as they were £5 battered surplus I mated them with a set of high gortex sox for £15 and they are perfect. Still looking for another pair in better nick they were that comfy!

Might not be the same German Army surplus Meindl Mountain boots that you are looking at but I have a pair that I found to be good for the price - £30 at the time if I misremember correctly. However, the sole width came in a bit on the slim side, maybe because they are designed to take ski bindings? I prefer a wider leather boot so went for the Meindl Burma GTX walking boots and now the Harkila Grizzly Paw GTX in a higher 9" which arrived from John Norris the day before yesterday.

Been wearing them constantly since and found them to be just about right for my feet. On special at the moment for £109.99.
