Guess the score

The top one shot by a friend made 127
I shot the bottom one couple weeks later it’s currently with scorer
Just wondering if it will score as high
So silvers for both most likely then. All depends on how dry yours is and what points you might ‘not win’ for the short tines and span etc.

Always hard to tell from a picture and I though bronze, but hell, any medal is a great representation of a good buck and well managed gene pool. We are not medal collectors of course, but nothing wrong with celebrating and giving honour to an OLD medal buck.

Nothing irks me more than having a 3 year old gold come through my hands 🤢

We don’t get a lot of medal heads locally
My mate has stalked for 20ish years and that was his 1st medal roe. Strange thing is shooting 2 medal heads in space of 3wks
I had seen my big Buck last year, stalked into him got to maybe 200yrds and he just vanished like a ghost. Spotted him again this year on trail cam. Since I shot him I’ve seen another decent size much younger Buck on the ground
To be honest im pleased with any colour medal

You’ll likely have drawn in a neighbouring gene pool by reducing numbers of ‘original’ stock, or by leaving a particularly good breeding mature doe that attracted him.

Or, something has changed crop wise possibly, and ground around there now is more nutritious.

But leaving good mature does will bring in good bucks, and don’t forget to leave his offspring for a few years to get good too. Easy to ruin the gene pool you’re just been lucky enough to get access to.

If you only shoot old bucks, you’ll always have old bucks - one of my favourite sayings.
