I have an Anschutz 1730 in .22 hornet, I’m looking for a gunsmith in the kent/sussex/Surrey area that understands the trigger/safety mechanism, i’ve had two smiths look at it and say they’re unable to set it up as they ain’t sure how to, anyone have any recommendations please?
Cheers

Going for 17 hornet in Annie 1731
Hopefully a can get to handle one at Harrogate show this weekend

Mine is a 1730 with a flag safety on the rear of the bolt, I bought it with a view to shooting it if it’s ok and rebarreling it if not, I paid less than £200 for it complete with a moderator.
It actually shoots well inside an inch so decided to get it serviced, checked and set up as the safety was very stiff and there was a little travel in the trigger.
I did have a look at the trigger and found I could get the weight and travel good on the trigger but then the safety was way too heavy, I could get the safety lightened but then the trigger was crap, it seems the heavy safety is linked to the trigger adjustment and where the safety catch is concerned I won’t take any chances.

Turn the travel adjuster so you have plenty of travel. Sometimes when to much over travel is removed the trigger can't reset properly.

Update…
Had a call from the gunsmith that left me a little faint🫣
The gun is sorted, checked over and adjusted with a nice crisp trigger, when I asked how much I nearly fainted at £40.00😂

I would like to add that I am very grateful to Heym20 and I now have my tikka M590 in .222rem going in to be checked, serviced and any work that is needed done, I’ll be dropping it off when I pick up the hornet, many thanks Heym20.
