I recently bought a 16 bore Luneburg hammer gun at auction but it has a broken firing pin. Does anyone know of a decent Smith that could make a replacement for it ?
Thank in advance for the replies.

Lastly don't let the small coil springs beneath the hammers zing out when you unscrew the retaining nuts. They should not normally do so but sod's law says they might. It is unlikely.

Hum I work for a bearing company but all the skilled old school guys are saddly long gone now hence the enquiry.
If it's any help to you I use mate of mine who makes holders and polishing tools for the jewelry industry. Just thinking laterally sometimes helpful.
Best regards Jess

Thanks for the replies, the good one has been sent to Peter Dyson for a copy to be made and a spare too, complete with new springs. Hopefully back in time for the beginning of December.
Good news. We have to keep the hammer guns and their history alive 👍

I made my own replacements for my folding 410. The ones in it were misshapen and the wrong length. So I have had to use a bit of an educated guess on the actual sizes. They work but are not perfect. Pins mk2 are to follow. A lathe does help but a drill and a file would give a useable one albeit a bit slower.
