Roy Jacob, Closeburn Sporting Thornhill, Dumfries .Specializes in old Hammerguns..I recently bought a 16 bore Luneburg hammer gun at auction but it has a broken firing pin. Does anyone know of a decent Smith that could make a replacement for it ?

Hum I work for a bearing company but all the skilled old school guys are saddly long gone now hence the enquiry.If have dimensions,any competent toolmaker/ engineer could make you one. Should be able to suggest correct hardness steel too.

Good news. We have to keep the hammer guns and their history aliveThanks for the replies, the good one has been sent to Peter Dyson for a copy to be made and a spare too, complete with new springs. Hopefully back in time for the beginning of December.
