Harkila Fenja Roe sack - Real world experience?

Hi Guys,

Has anyone here got real world experience using a Harkila fenja roe sack for extraction of deer be it Roe, Sika or even a small Fallow?
I’d appreciate any comments photos etc.

Many thanks
Glendine.

I never did use mine for stalking as I found it really noisy if it brushed against anything. However it was excellent for carrying logs from the far end of the garden after we had some felling done. Certainly tough enough & if you weren’t moving around forestry plantations it could work.

I’ve had one for years no complaints. Had two roe in it without any problems. I believe the more recent ones suffer from the build issues described above.

I had one about 10 years ago and the stitching came apart and I sent it back and it was replaced with a better one. I used it a fair bit and it worked well but I don’t even know where it is now

My one is great. Older version so never had a quality issue .
I had a fallow pricket in it once , no problem getting it in. Then came the struggle to get it on my back and stand up. Was fun though !
Put it on lying down then roll over to get to your feet just like squaddies with heavy bergens.

Having carried fallow pricketts on my back in a Sika sack, I would strongly advise against it. Numerous times fallen over and unable to get back up without getting out of the straps.. Then the problem is getting the bag back on your back....

Have realised as I've grown older, that doing things like that will eventually end up in a serious, possibly life threatening injury, far better a drag sled or similar (or a quad :) ).

Roe and small fallow maybe worth back packing out, but that's it.

Hi I find it a bit bulky to stalk with but I do use it to go back to get roe after I’ve secured the rifle etc. It is very comfortable to carry, or at least as comfortable as you can be carrying weight. My stitching is starting to go as per other posts.

Another vote for the Monarch Roe Sack, absolutely brilliant (although less so their customer service - tried to place an order through their website and couldn't checkout and inexplicably, no response from their customer service email).
