currently looking to buy a jacket (online)
Harkila Finnmark HWS to be precise.

getting out to try on somwhere is proving a nightmare.
looking to find out if Harkila usually wear bigger or smaller. or a reasonably good fit.
ive unfortunately crossed the threshold of being able to pull off a medium. but.... some large items are too baggy.
any help or info greatly appreciated.

cheers

My experience with their jackets is that they are a bit generous. A medium, for example will be fine for a medium person with layering such as a fleece or whatever underneath. Their trousers I found to be more accurate to the listed size.

ideally id like to try on first. but not to many retailers close to hand. i fear the large being too big. 🤦‍♂️

Will this be your first Harkila purchase?

If so, I’d just relay my experience with Harkila in that every item, from Roe sacks to wellies have been substandard and with the Roe sack the stitching came loose after 1 use, and two separate pairs of very expensive wellies leaked after minimal use.

Jacket wise I’ve had no issues with Kuiu, Swazi or Stoney Creek.

I've got a few harkila jackets and they have all been spot on , harkila t shirts are brilliant quality well out last any others ,

harkila footwear don't even bother

I'm a Harkila tart and have no problems also long as I buy in a sale or at 50% off like at the Stalking show. As previously written up on here, when my Pro trousers started leaking well into their fourth year, they were replaced FOC without hassle. I have Pro jackets including the wild boar ones - excellent. I also have Kuiu and a Sitka waterproof jacket, all selected for stalking in specific conditions and locations. IMHO, there's no one jacket to fit all stalking requirements hence why the wife says I have too many jackets :coat: My Orton zipped wellies leaked in their second year and were similarly replaced without hassle. They are rubber and I invariably stalk in them unless its bone dry as now, hence I expect them to wear and eventually fail.

im torn between the Finnmark and Nordic hunter. both seem to cover allot of overall uses.
