Hawke scopes.

yes ! i use a hawke endurance 6x24x50 with great success, no the older type but the wide angle one its about 3 years old illuminated. good scope for the money BUT ONLY BUY NEW as the warranty only covers the original buyer.

I've got an 8x56 S&B at the minute, and wonder what the optical difference will be in clarity? But wanting something with variable power for extended ranges if need be.

I have a Frontier 30 SF 4-24x50 LR dot on my 6.5CM and my friend has an older version of the Frontier on his .30-06. Both really like the scopes and have had no trouble with them.

I had the same in 5-15x 50 the with 1” tube. I stupidly sold it it was on my .308 and it was perfect

Hawke scopes, speaking generally are middle of the road as regards quality and price. By that, I certainly don't mean bad. They are great on the likes of rimfires and air rifles and will definitely do a job on pretty much any usual centrefire. Obviously there are limitations and that shows itself in low light conditions, when compared to similar higher end products. But they are good quality products and, as disco_ike says, you cry a lot less if you damage them when out and about, compared to a £1.5k + whatever scope.

I have two: on a .22 and 17 HMR and a 3-12x50 as a spare for my .308 which whilst untested is a nice piece of glass for very little £.

Hawke now has a full no questions asked warranty on all bins, scopes and spotters brought new. Same warranty as vortex but in my opinion better glass :)

Scopes should work on a 308 no issues. If your budget allows something fancy from Germany then great, if not then you can’t go too far wrong with Hawke to be honest!

Worst case scenario, buy for £500, use for a few years then upgrade in the future if you want to

I have the Hawke Frontier 4-24x50, with the LRdot reticle and am extremely pleased with it, especially with the no fault full warranty on the scope.

Just wanted to clarify the warranty. Yes its a lifetime warranty but unlike Vortex, its for the original owner only. Its non transferable which really makes second hand ones more of an issue. If you keep it and dont plan on selling it, then no problem. Just remember to keep proof of purchase as they will ask for it.

I use a Hawke Vantage SF 6-24 x 44 on both my .204 and on my .270. Neither has given me any trouble or doubts despite a few knocks and bumps. I only put one on the .270 after using one on the .204 for a few years and found it to do all I wanted a scope to do.

Where glass is concerned I think it can be summed up by a friends comments when comparing his Swaro binocular (Circa £1300) to my Hawke binocular (circa £300) of the same mag and objective size.
"Well I definitely think that mine is a bit clearer at the edges of the image, and perhaps a bit brighter overall, so mine are better. The really annoying thing is though .... they're not a *^%$"* thousand quids-worth better !"

I had a sidewinder on my 243 for over a year with no issues, only removed it to fit a nightforce nxs,the nightforce is an amazing scope but side by side with the hawke for the average 100-200y shot there ain’t no difference to look through

Latest Hawke stuff is great, I have a 6-24x56 sidewinder which is very good for £500 ish, customer service is awesome too, fixed some birding binos I dropped in a few days. I wish they did a hunting zoom range 56mm Frontier scope.

I prefer my range finding binos from Hawke to the Swaro one my friend has and less than half price

I'm not made of money. Got myself an Aim Sport 3-12x50 for £100 from a member on here. It seems fine for me performance wise but it's MOA rather than mils and I'm a metric guy so I'm pretty much resigned that I'll swap it at some point and basically settled it'll be a Hawke

Been looking at the sidewinder 6-24 ffp scopes from Hawke, strangely the one on display at the stalking show had a really fussy eye box at full magnification. Might have been the dummy stock it was mounted to, but I struggled to get a good picture.

Now looking at others that are on par or are slightly better and seem to come in slightly cheaper too

changed over to 3 hawke scopes for the PCP, 22 rimmy and the 204 to enable the use of the pard 007 shot 3 foxes last night out to 190 yds with the 204 they all work fine only thing I would say if your using a pard on it get a decent external IR

as far as the scopes go can’t fault them i went for the variable vantage with the small reticule and range scale on the side, parralax works fine on them all, hold zero etc etc
