Greetings from Austria, Klagenfurt! I'm really glad having found this site, since it has just given me some info I've been looking for so long ...
I'm a retired small arms designer, over 40 yrs of sevice with ammunition and gun manufacturers over here, and now tinkering with some projects just for fun

Just read here about a British Gentleman named Derek Fearn, I'd love to learn more about, esp. his contribution to that iconic " Day of the Jackal" movie prop gun, that skeletonized sniper rifle, obviously of BSA origin.
Almost impossible to find helpful information about the basic off the shelf gun it was made from, I even went to Paris Cinematheque
museum where one rifle should be kept, without any success. Years of on-off search, with very scarce and fragmented info, and finally this site with a good hint for more, giving me hope for good conversations on cool gun topics...! Pls excuse my mediocre English, and many thanks for any response, TR
