Hello Folks,
Long time reader. First time poster.
I have shot for as long as I can remember. I first went out with my grandfather at the age of 5 on the targets with the air rifle.
This then developed into clay pigeons at the age of 7. And the gift of a single barrel 12 gauge (held on my grandads licence) spurred on my interest. I was briefly introduced to a local pheasant syndicate which I shot a few times and helped out with the land management too.
By the age of 12 I was regularly shooting geese, ducks, pigeons, pheasants and partridges. I joined a new syndicate, as a junior member, at this age. I continued to shoot here with my granddad for the next 8 years.
I then, at the age of 20, became the club secretary and joined two additional shoots. During this time I unfortunately lost my shooting buddy and became, for a time, a bit distant from my shooting and country sports.
Fortunately, I had met some great lads and lassies along the way who helped me out to get back into my shooting. I’ve been more into waterfowl these past 3 years but I still love a day at the pigeons or rough shooting for the odd pheasant.
So with approximately 18 years of shotguns I thought it was time to get into rifles. I will detail this in one subsequent posts.
I have also been fortunate enough to own two 5 month old Labrador pups which are currently in training.
