Welcome. Give my regards to Zambia. My Pa was born in Lusaka in the 1930’s and grew up there. I spent quite a bit of the early 1990’s in Zambia and loved it. It was just opening up again after KK.

I came back to do further studies with a view to going back, but then the shite hit the fan with a coup, zim going rapidly down hill and all the Congo / Rwanda shenanigans and I never got back. I moved to Scotland instead but think about the bush most days.

Yeah I came back to uk in early.2000s I would visit my parents yearly. With my wife. Always get on the return plane with tears missing the bush life. So during covid we said F it and sold house and car and flew over and made a fresh start.
I love it.

Welcome to the site. I spent a number of years working for a Zambian company in and around Lochinvar National Park near Monze on the Kafue flats. Our camp manager was a former PH, trained in Zim, and had some amazing stories and photos to go with. I would love to go hunt up in the Luangwa valley.

Thanks! No ways so I was in monze for a year when I first came back now I live in mazabuka. So I worked with my dad in lochinvar Park we graded the roads. I went to Loch. Last year its a shame now the cattle have pushed in and the Chinese are etching in by mining gypsum. It was soo sad to see. I saw 4 baboon and a pair secretary birds, so sad.

I lived in Mazabuka as a wee lad

Was borne in Kabwe (Brokenhill)

My dear old dad was the only doctor for 3000 square miles around Mazabuka

I bet it has changed a bit 😂

It certainly has changed you wouldn't recognize Lusaka anymore

I think we were there around 63 or 64

Moved to the Copper Belt, then I moved to my grandmothers home farm near W*nkie in Rhodesia for schooling

Did Nat service with RLI then ended up in UK
