I just registered for the forum so here is my introduction:
I am currently located in Germany (my third time here) where I have spent a total of about 18 years. I first obtained my German hunting license in 1989 and have hunted now all over Germany as well as in the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, Latvia, and Hungary. I very much enjoy the culture and traditions of hunting in Europe and I am looking to expand my experiences to as many countries as I can. I have been fortunate enough to hunt red deer, fallow deer, sika deer, roe deer, wild boar, mouflon, chamois, and moose (Elch). On the small game side, I have pursued duck, pheasant, hare, rabbit, fox, and badger. I would also like to add muntjac to the list of species but my favorite animal to chase is the roebuck. I have a goal to hunt the roebuck in every country where he is naturally occurring and I hope that I can complete that in my lifetime. By my count - I have six countries down and about 43 to go! When not in the field, I tend to expand my collection of hunting tools. Some of my favorites include Blaser, Steyr, Sauer, Heym, and Thompson Center. Since I appreciate both the aesthetics and the utility of various firearm designs and calibers, I have multiple choices for any outing. In fact, what brought me to this forum was my search for a Sauer barrel in a caliber I have yet to add to my collection. So far, I am enjoying the forum and looking forward to perusing the various topics and posts.
