Help please with Sauer 202 quick release Apel mounts

Does anyone know if you can use different rings on the same base mount (to have different scopes) or are you stuck with the rings and base mounts staying together?

Also any ideas of where best to buy them and the best make if not sauer ?

Many thanks in advance,

I had some non Apel rings fitted to a Heym rifle that used those rings and bases, I required 30 mm rings from 25 that were original. Can't remember for the life of me what the chap used at F A Anderson in East Grinstead, he went straight up to his gun room and had them fitted in no time. I switched between both scopes with no zero issues at the sporting range in Bisley.

BC.

Many thanks indeed very helpful

Yep, you definitely can have Apel mounts with two sets of rings for different scopes ... indeed I do for a sauer 202 in 300 win mag. Steve Beaty (at Ivythorne Sporting) set them up for me and he was absolutely anal about getting everything precisely aligned and fitted correctly ... and to be fair they are superb once set up properly. He normally has apel mounts and rings for sauer 202's available.

Thank you so much

I have apel mounts on a couple of my rifles (one is a sauer 90) so I can change scopes easily, from stalking to driven. They return to zero no problem. So in a nutshell the base and rings don't have to stay as a pair.
Cheers
Bonzo
