High cut stalking boots possibly daft question.

My Meindl boots have finally given up and i’ve just taken delivery of some Grisport Gamekeepers and as the general consensus they seem very well made and fit spot on.
This is the first pair of high cut boots ive owned and i’m used to the lower cut type, wearing them around the house im conscious of the potential of them rubbing my shins and calf being higher, does anyone suffer from this or am i just overthinking it!
Cheers.

Take a bit of getting used to but no issues.

If you of out on any hills or moving around with a full roesac on make sure you can get two fingers between your shin and the tounge when done up. Stops you getting painful shins from the blood flow being restricted.

I bought a pair of Chiruca Dogo leather , that replaced a pair of Harkila tissue paper boots.
I had similar thoughts regarding rubbing, but have never had an issue apart from folding trousers the wrong way round and wheni tighten them up the crease from the trousers creats an uncomfortable area, but just get it right in the 1st place. Brilliant for stalking up Scotland in clear-fell where they dont back fill the 2 feet deep holes

I find low cut boots (typical fell walking boots) really uncomfortable these days, having worn 10" boots for most of my adult life. They just don't feel right at all. Shoes and trainers ... no problem, but ankle height boots are just 'all wrong'. Pretty sure you'll quickly get used to the higher boots and benefit from the greater ankle support they offer;)
This from a man who spent so much of his childhood and youth in wellies that they rubbed the hairs off my lower legs to the point of killing the follicles. My calf muscles are as smooth as a supermodels !

Takes a while to wear in the stiff sole but after that the uppers are soft and plaible. Best boots I've ever had...have survived snow and ice in lapland, bogs in bowland and everything inbetween :)

Well after 3 weeks of dog walking and a handful of stalks i’m glad to say i’m very happy with the Gamekeepers, really comfy no real rubbing of the shins etc. Certainly give more support than my prevoius Meindls.
Had to cross a small ditch yesterday to retrieve a Muntjac and it was deeper than expected, waited for that cold feeling that would have happened in lower boots but all good.

I have mine tight to just above the ankle then loosen off the rest of the way. Works for me but it's what ever works for you everyone is diffrent.
