Hik 4k lite lrf - real world

Hi all, just thought I’d ask/put this out there. I had a standard 4k lrf on my 22LR shooting sub sonics and it worked very well (was able to headshoot rabbits to 100m, sometimes further on the right night). I used it with a dark sun laser illuminator and never had any problems with image, ID and aim points etc, BUT it was damn heavy with torch and torch mount, so I read the reviews (I know….) and bought the lite.
The Lite is definitely OK to around 75m in terms of being able to adequately see the bunnies and to pick out a good aim point, but past that, for me it’s not really up to the job.
Fully accept that it was billed as an air rifle scope but having had both a Wulf 4k and a pard ds35 which both had small objective lens and worked out to 100+m, I thought I’d be ok at “rimfire distances” (was hoping for 150m capability).
Are there any secrets to getting a better image or are others finding the same thing (and should I have heeded the sales pitch that it is just for air rifles?).
Full disclosure, it was rabbits on fresh drilling, so not the best conditions for optics in terms of contrast, but I did expect better.
Thanks in advance for your (constructive) thoughts/replies

I realise you are asking for advice on additional IR`s for your Lite, but the only thing I can recommend is do what I did. Sell the Lite and purchase a Zulus V2 5-20 LRF.

Thanks but the whole rearward mount thing turns me cold! 😂

Mate I was the same about the mount on the Zulus and had avoided them for years with the pard etc. I have that mk1 Alpex but eventually bought the mk1 Zulus and to be honest apart from being a bit high for a decent cheek weld they are great on the rifle.

I've been using an Alpex Lite for some time now on an FX Tactical .25 FAC air rifle, and find it ideal out to the distances I need it for (100 yds maximum). I've tried various IR lasers and found the Night Sabre Wraith gave the "cleanest" picture.

Have a look at the Bradley adjustable cheek rest for your cheek weld issue.

I have written a review of the Lite based on real world experiences and using a standard 4k as a yard stick as well. I just need to find the time to convert my poor English into slightly less poor English. Will probably post it on the weekend.

In the short term though @crowe I would suggest making sure you have the 45mm eye relief as the Lite is fussy, turn the auto brightness off and set your own manually and potentially try with and without smart IR on.

Thanks will give this a try - in short though did you find the lite acceptable with the right setup and IR etc for use out to 150m?
Thanks

The Lite is significantly smaller and "lighter"
It requires significantly more IR to get a similar image and doesnt allow for 5-700m scanning that the 4K Alpex is capable of when paired with high spec IR

I ran them side by side and whilst it is very capable and will allow for shots well past 200m it didnt allow me to do what I need (scanning herds at range was where it let me down)
