Hikmicro Alpex 4k

I hadn't updated for ages due to it working fine and seeing issues with updates,

Saw the new update today, downloaded it, then once home went to apply it,

Apparently now i have the update that makes the reticule super thin, and the new update i saw earlier dosent seem to exist now!!

Not overly happy 😫

Go to the arrow top right corner and down load.

I wrote down all the ballistic data including the zero data for each rifle just incase but nothing was lost
My zero co-ordinates were the same but I lost my ballistic calculation information, but that might have been from the reset I did after the update . Cross hairs are a lot clearer in my opinion & picture quality looks better

Stupid question time. When you up date the software does the zero and ballistic data get lost?
It is suggested that immediately after you do a firmware update you use the “restore”function, this will reset some things on the scope, most notably it will wipe the ballistic data i.e. velocity BC etc. but it should keep X and Y settings. They suggest you do this to “flush out” any old bits of firmware that might be still in the scope, which might cause issues conflicting with the new firmware. You can off course not do it, and probably be OK and the scope will retain all its settings after an upgrade, but some people do have issues after upgrades, loosing all there data on the scope. If you give this ago make sure it’s restore you select and not reset ! As then you will definitely loose all your data !!

Just loaded the new firmware v 5.5.140 and no problems... all looks good. I did notice that a code is now displayed in the scope on completion of the S/W load. I'm presuming that this handshake negates the 'restore' requirement? All data seems to be stores... we will see when I shoot it...

I haven’t updated the mine for ages but the latest software release looks appealing as it promise different thickness options in reticles and a better quality view in sunny days.
Has anyone done the latest update and lost the zero parameters?
