Hilux - Dog Box & Back seat?

Just seeing if anyone else has done / seen or tried to put a dog box and keep one of the back seats in a 2018 Hilux.

I already have the truck and took out the back seats tha was a single bench seat style ( it was the basic model). I took it out and fitted a dog box - it’s great but I keep finding I need a spare seat as my Hilux is currently a two seater.

I’m aware the invisible models and higher spec models had a back seat that split. Has anyone taken half the seat out and fitted dog box.

I like having a pickup bed clear and prefer the dogs in the air conditioned part of the truck.

Does anyone have a Hilux with split seats - could you easily remove the single seat from the rest of the seat ?

Have a look at the dog box I’ve just sold
It was to be used on the back seat and fitted no problem

Buyer uses it in the back seat of a hilux

Taken all of the back seating out in mine..
Not so much for a dog box but for space.

I’ve always wondered about making a shelf that fits to the isofix and like a child seat but just a big board for sitting a crate on. Keeps your one back seat and secures the crate on a flat surface without messing with the seats

Often thought about this, and then coincidentally saw an advert for the D-Max 'Utility':

I like the idea of that. There's a company local to us that make dog boxes, drawer systems etc and can effectively make them to whatever size and shape you need, so with this you could essentially have a double-ended dog box that can be accessed via either door, ideal for shoot days where you end up parked with one side in a hedge. You could leave space at the top for guns in slips, and leaves the entire rear cab free for everything else..
