Hi guys, I know it's a long shot but can anyone check their old reloading manuals for Hirtenberger ABC 308 win 165 gr load data. I would prefer N140 powder. Thanks in advance for any help.

Haven't checked QL yet but I have heard that the Fox Classic hunter bullets resemble the ABC bullet alot. Maybe try loaddata for the 165 grain Fox Classic hunter.
Work up carefully from minimum load etc....

Well, since I have both, here is a picture of the ABC and FOX side by side for comparison. Both are 6,5 mm 123 gr. So same caliber and weight and not at all that similar as one might expect. The ABC bullets were quite pressure sensitive because of only a single groove while the FOX has three. Most people that loaded ABC suggest to load them a grain or two below max because of the single groove thing.

Also ABC was predestined to open to four petals while FOX is a simpler design that mushrooms randomly. I used both and prefer ABC. It is not as violent as FOX and gives better blood trails.

Thank you very much sir, you have been most kind. My R8 barrel is about 50 cm long though but I don't think that is going to make a lot of difference.
