Home Brewing

You absolute animal. I don't think I've got past 15 bottles in a night. Must've been a beast of a hangover this morning.

Ha, nah, 30 Wheats bottled.

I was drinking Steady Rolling Man last night, and a tin of sickly sweet Vault City Creme Egg 14% Stout.

I bottled my first brew last night, it stopped fermenting on Wednesday night with a hydrometer reading giving me 4.4% ABV. I am quite happy with it but the only thing I noticed was that it looks a little cloudy but tastes good - It puts me in mind of one of my old favourites "Wadworths SixX"! Now that it is bottled it might be a bit too late but can anyone offer any tips for clearing a slightly cloudy brew when bottling home brewed beer please. I know I can use gelatine if barrelling home brew but for future reference what (If anything) can be done for bottling please?
Any suggestions please Guys?
Bang it in the fridge and the haze should drop out.

Now that my hand has healed, and lambing is over and done with, I get the feeling that I ought to go for an evening stalk, or sit out for a fox, or take the .22lr for a walk and look for bunnies, but between this thread and the cider thread I'm always three sheets to the wind by 6.30pm. How's everyone else coping?

I brewed my NEIPA today. The bloody dry hop sack dropped into the grog at yeast pitching, so I'll have to see how it turns out.

250g of hops in this 10l brew!!

These, plus a bit of Galaxy.

60g added post boil @ 80c for 20mins.
190g in the dry hop bag.

At the very high end of hop grams per L.

Crikey, next time you brew it, for science try halving the amount of dry hops and see if you can notice a difference. Alot of the people who have tested it reckon that it's massively diminishing returns past 8g/L

The hops were meant to be in two stages of dry hop, but fell in.

I was following (taking inspiration from) a recipe released by Verdant. For 19L they use 90g at 80c and 300g at post ferm.

But, my Azacca hops werent very aromatic once the packet was opened so up it a bit. I can always pull them after a few days.

If it's no good I will try it with less next time.

I'm sure it'll be great! But maybe you can use half the amount of dry hops and have the same tasting beer (and more of it as you'd lose less to dry hop absorption)

What was the verdant recipe? I might give it a go myself as they do make some nice beers

Even Sharks Need Water. Verdant released the recipe for people to brew.

The Malt Miller sell it in an all grain kit. The dry hops in that kit come in a 19gp/l.

As I said, my loose Azacca were very under whelming compared to my pellets, so even with my higher rate per L, it should be ok.

Which did you choose?
