Definitely a US buyer or investor underpinning this move. The US isn’t going lead free soon, but a US buyer/owner can control sales to all countries that ‘do’ go lead free, and down the line, the US. So, likely a medium to long term play here. The EU ammo producers likely didn’t want to invest as they’re developing their own alternatives.

The US consumer is a sucker for marketing and advertising, so ‘Hortonium’, made in U.K. since XYZ and sounds like something Elon Musk would have come up with - you kidding, they’ll lap it up like double cream.

As to Hortonium, it’s IMHO faf, when someone else finds the same composition of ingredients, it can be reproduced. You cannot patent a cake mix
