How accurate are lever action rifles?

You probably don't NEED anything, but for discriminate and fast shooting suitable optics are far superior to irons. Irons usually block too much FOV, they're very intolerant to low light, they require aligment of 3 points (instead of 2 points with optics) and so on.
Well....no

Snap shooting with irons you " look over the sights" much like a shotgun, you do the same for running game also.

Granted a scope will give you at least an hour more hunting per day by way of making the most of low light conditions.

I like irons,I like scopes too. Isn't choice a wonderful thing!

The rear iron sight is for fine tuning what the main rear sight is looking at, the eye. The eye is the main rear sight.
If the eye is way off the rear sight then the stock needs adjusting.
Ironically my current Winchester 94 does not fit as well as my previous one! So my current one needs the eye to be moved which is all wrong. My previous 94 lined up perfectly.

I still took plenty on irons with this current rifle.

Glad you managed to stem the bleeding from your femoral artery ! All the more reason to pack a tourniquet. 🤭

Lol, I had to carry that bugger 100yds plus across maize stubble that had dried out slurry on it. No way was I opening him up on that.
So one of the holes in him kept spurting along the way.
That deer nearly had the last laugh!!

Not if you still want to hit something. Or actually the point you want. Please pay attention to the word "discriminate" in my post. We might have different standards.

Other option is to spend insane amount of time and money practicing, mind you not only the perfect body position and target presentation, but odd angles etc. also.

Yes

I have spent probably thousands of hours over 42 years practicing /competing/hunting with open sights. Its a skill most people dont bother with and I can understand why.

Proficiency with firearms requires an early start,I have shot my first animal at 4 years of age and my fist Deer at 9. (Both with open sighted rifles)

As for "Discriminate" are you suggesting that irons are only useful for indirect fire? Like a GMPG in the SF role?

Nothing wrong with open sights.

If you have been brought up using glass you will think it is impossible to shoot a rifle without glass.
The open minded rifleman learns how to use them correctly.

My personal struggle after many years using opens is my aging eyes! However, in principle if you can see your target naturally then you should be able to make a successful shot with open sights.

I mean selecting a certain POI from certain animal, usually in wild boar driven hunt (as was the topic, driven hunt). And shooting up to 50m or so (I try not to shoot farther than that with 1x optics).

Most people don't want "like shotgun" shooting in that kind of situation. After all with shotgun your POI is dozens of centimeters wide, and several meters long.

I have shot decent amount with irons, more than I care to admit. But it's been mostly centerfire pistol in "dynamic sports".
