How big should a muntjac be to be classed as a medal head?

I think I have a possible medal head muntie, but I'm not quite sure. One thing is the antlers are thick. What are the basics measurements to qualify? Are the antler length measurements taken with a soft tape, i.e. curving with the antlers? On the width/breadth measurement is it the full width of the antlers or tip to tip? I'm boiling it out right now, so pic later.

Just type in Muntjac score chart.

Yes. Look up your local Cic measurer and contact them. No charge if it doesn't make medal class.

Would be surprised if it doesn't medal. Good thickness. Brow tines. Nice span. I am not sure you have many measuring choices. Chris Rogers at Euston is just south of Thetford. Not sure who is north of the county.

Bloody show off 😅 Ive got worse nicely displayed...not green and manky....suppose some of us arent spoilt like others 🥰💋
I used to do some muntjac doe control in the Chilterns and the keeper there had at least 20 boiled out heads in a shed on the estate, they were all potential medals, and some were potentially big golds. I photographed the best one in order to roughly score it but lost the photo before I could estimate it. The place was alive with muntjac, the estate was about 2,000 acres but public footpaths, property and off piste early morning joggers limited our “safe” area to about 800 acres and we still had to be super careful when shooting. With about 60% of the estate being off limits plus extensive local gardens and neighbouring estates that did not control them, we were never able to get on top of the muntjac as they just filled back in to replenish the stock. We sold everything we shot to the local Chinese restaurant!

The minimum scores are currently bronze 56, silver 60 and gold 64, only the qualifying scores have changed the methodology remains the same but all previous medal awards will stand even though downgraded by the new thresholds. I can see the minimum scores being raised again due to the large numbers of medals each year.
