How do you reload the case?

I was at my shooting club range today and a few of us were chatting and the conversation got around to how you load your round.
One chap just trimmed the case to required length and loaded bullet to what OAL he required, a few others checked a few bullet dimensions using a comparator to determine the base of bullet to ogive length, while one chap measured every bullet base to ogive using a comparator and sorted accordingly, thus having the same case length, the same bullet dimensions on every round, and then loading to his required AOL.
All swear their method gives good results, how about you and your method?

Unless you’re shooting a top of the range Benchrest rifle, or something else of that ilk, you reach the point of diminishing returns…

If it gives the shooter greater confidence, then all well and good, but to my mind, with an off the shelf rifle particularly, just load to what seems best in it… safely.

I always think of accuracy as a chain. So your best accuracy is defined by the weakest link.

In that scenario you can reload to the nth degree and not see the benefit as something else is limiting it. In our case usually the stalking rifle and support/position.

Hence all 3 approaches can yield satisfactory results.

I occasionally ask people their reloading method, never seem to get the same answer twice! Just for fun , next time, ask what makes the biggest difference to accuracy? And if you want to really stir up the hornets nest, ask how many compare home loads to bought ammo? not many people can reload a 308 more accurately than GGG when you actually test it.
