How does someone qualify to be an AW

Interesting thread particularly what Sikamalc and Ed have said. I did my DSC1 last year at the age of 50 having shot all my life and centrefires for twelve years, shotguns for 38….I run a small shoot and after fishing and shooting rabbits, pheasant and fox decided that deer was the next thing….. I’ve loved every minute, had three sika stags, and four fallow…. I stalk about once a week in autumn through winter into spring…. I will do a DSC2 but it’ll be in 3 or four years time when I’ve got 20+ deer bagged… we have access to a keeper who’s very knowledgable and we learn every time…

Everyone seems in such a rush - qualifications should confirm experience not be a substitute for them….

Andy you have the right idea.
L2 was introduced to enable someone with experience to show their experience, usually over several years not just experience gained on a course !!

I don't charge for witnessing. I don't sell stalking. Some of us like to give a little back. When I was starting out 35 years ago a few gents kindly gave their time free of charge.

@5pointer drop me a PM if you want to have a chat.
Thanks Nick, that’s very kind. Your reasons for witnessing as you do align with my own motivation for wanting to become an AW.

I’ll drop you a PM.

5pointer.
