Well I’ve got a wayward 6 year old, previously loved, sprocker that I’m intending to re-purpose as a deer dog. I think you might have top trumps. He does have a good nose though
Give them 2 years generally.
1 season watching, second season starting to do a bit.
Don’t rush anything.
If you make a mess of things you have another 10 years to regret it.
Any failures are yours and not the dogs.
All depends on the dog.
No point forcing anything on a pup but some take to things way quicker than others.
Bucks first duck flight at 9 months tonight with him beside me when shooting and absolutely spot on,as was his retrieving.
Nothing serious and making it fun although with Jake at 13 years now and stone deaf it's hard to be serious.
