Hi all I have been using Hornady STT 75g. In my howa and they are very accurate but I'm going on a outing with a guide and don't want too much meat damage.
What ammo can you advise me on?
Regards Dan

if you are happy with 75gr sst use them.you have to damage deer to kill them.better a bit of damage than a wounded animal.good luck.

I would rather see you use a little heavier bullet. Maybe 90gr and up. I have shot at least 20 deer with my .243win using a Nosler Partitiion. Never a problem. Always a pass through. If you really want to use the 75 brain bullets I think the neck shot is very sound advice. At least you need a broad side for heart/lung shots.

I use 100gr on roe and munties my Howa 1500 .243 prefers Federal premium - just under 1 moa with Hornady Custom just over 1 moa - there is very little usable meat damage on a heart/lung shot

I also use Federal premium 100gr on roe (two reds) and munties through my Howa 1500 .243
I also know it hates the 90gr and 100gr PPU soft points
ive also used 75gr Hornady STT but find my zero is way off from the heavier projectiles I prefer

I always put factory through a new rifle to start with (1500 Sporter) 100 grn PPU were moa out of the box.

Sierra 85 grn (1530) and 100 grn (1560) hand loaded, both excellent on Roe. Recipes available. john

I have inventory of the 100 grain partitions but have to believe that many of these will be outstanding with good marksmanship. I have 500 of the Speer 90 gr hot cores I was considering for a trip out west this year. Ive not used them before but have to think the hot core will get it done.

Sako 100gn, good ballistics and very accurate in my howa 243. This is 5shots at 100yd
