Anyone got one I'd like one that has a stock for ambidextrous use I'm left handed if I like the calibre I'll get a lone peak action and get someone I know to build me what I want and get rid of the howa who don't make left handed actions thanks

My mate had a howa 204 and it was a very accurate rifle.
I understand you are looking for a cheap rifle to try out the 204 calibre and if you like it you will then sell it on and build what you want.
If that's the case the howa 204 would be fine.

Yes that's what I'm thinking of doing Im OK with the bolt being on the wrong side! But would want something that's got a stock that'll be OK with both left and right hand use plus interested in how the howa preforms

I'm a 'righty' so the stock is fine for me, despite being 'a bit bigger than your average bear Boo-Boo'. No idea if a 'lefty' would be able to get on with it TBH.

The rifle itself is an excellent bit of kit. It's never liked 40 grain bullets. First day out with it (with 2 boxes of Remington 40 gr) I thought I'd bought a lemon. Then I tried 32grainers and all was well in my world again :) Ever since then I've been killing stuff with it at ranges that were previously considered silly using Hornady Superformance 32gr. It can over-feed the first round occasionally if I've put 5 in the mag and closed the bolt on an empty chamber (for carrying), but other than that I've not had a moments bother with it. Accuracy is better than I'm able to employ. I cannot shoot prone due to spinal issues so a bipod and rear bag aren't an option for me. My shooting is done off sticks 'in the field', but from a shooting bench with 5 shots, a 1/2"-ish ragged hole is perfectly achievable at 100yds. If you need more accurate than that you can see quarry a lot further away than I can ! Zeroed at 100yds I now know my elevations (by Mil-Dot) out to 500yds (2 dots!) and have taken foxes with it that I would have never previously attempted.

If you shoot from a fixed position -bipod, tripod, etc- shooting a rifle with an off-sided bolt is a real benefit. You don't need to shift your grip, take the gun from the shoulder, nor move your head. Just cycle the bolt with the free hand. I am right handed and am looking for a Tikka T1X left hand rifle so that I can do this while target shooting at extended ranges from the prone position. I can cycle the bolt rapidly and keep my eye on the wind at the same time. JMHO ~Muir

I'm left handed and shoot right handed rifles as long as the stock is ambidextrous iv actually got a remington 700 204 ruger for sale if your interested

Mate of mine has a .204 for sale, unsure what though. Very successful rabbit gun. Happy to ask for more details if needed.

This ^^^

I am sinister, so naturally advantaged. All my bolt guns are RH by choice, even if a LH might be available. A great advantage not just prone. Also applies when shooting off sticks, as we like to do here.

Problem I have I haven't even got a veryation slot for one as I'm at the I think I need one stage but you can ask thanks

Just spoken to him. The rifle is a Ruger M77 Mk2 in stainless. Has Ruger mounts and a scope and mod (will get info on those when I get the pictures through). He has had it from new and has put 300 rounds max through it. Comes with 50 Remington cases too. It was his lightweight field rifle, so assuming a sporter barrel, rather than a varmint weight.

Once I have all the details and pics, I'll drop a proper post in the for sale section.

Regards

Mark
