Humberside variation

Hi, does anyone have recent experience when it comes to variation turnaround times with Humberside Firearms?

Unfortunately I was unable to attend the Independent Advisory Group meeting in September, but having read the minutes it stated variation times were around 20 days.
My licence has been away much longer but I’m hesitant to drop them another email as I understand they’re under a lot of pressure with a backlog of grants and renewals.

If it’s of consequence, I also applied for an explosives licence as well as two rifles for pest control/field work, as I intend to use BP at my local club. I have already purchased a police approved storage box for the powder and have informed them of this, but perhaps a home visit will be required and that has added to the delay?

Any information or thoughts on the matter would be appreciated!

Dont know about variations but i am 2 months expired on my certificate (all done in very good time on my part).
To be fair, no issues, standard 8 week extension letter and now got "permit to possess" temporary certificate and been contacted on phone.
hopefully get sorted out soon.

I applied for a variation mid November, heard absolutely nothing, and received the amended FAC mid January. So that’s pretty much two months. Happy with that

There are various "Firearms Licensing Public Accountability" meetings coming up if you want to give Humberside some feedback:

• Thursday 15th January 2026 6-8pm
• Thursday 9th April 2026 6-8pm
• Thursday 9th July 2026 6-8pm
• Thursday 8th October 2026 6-8pm

many thanks thanks for the replies and the dates of forthcoming meetings.
I spoke to the FEO over the phone (very nice chap) and he informed me I will require a home visit due to the explosives application. Hopefully this won’t set things back too much, but who knows? I await a call back to arrange a time/date.
