A friend of mine has two of the above the one bitch as a large bald patch on its back and a few smaller patches scattered about
The dog licks the patches that it can reach but doesn't scratch them.
The owner has taken the bitch to the local vets but no joy.
It’s not mange. Anyone with an idea as to what it might be

Possibly auto immune/Lupus type thing

My male HWHV had a bald patch at base of tail and also on muzzle. This is what it turned out to be. Steroids sorted it

No fleas present. just bald patches as said not even scratching the other dog is fine

Thanks for the replies all
I asked the lady in question if the dog was stressed in any way ie was the bitch feeling left out ie not getting the same amount of attention as the other one . Turns out the bitch is stressed out about her cushions?
So maybe that’s the cause

The problem of the bald patches has been solved . The owner of the dog relocated to another vet who diagnosed ringworm
The bald patches are slowly disappearing.
I didn’t know ringworm affected dogs ?

👍👍 at least the problem solved, ringworm will affect any mammal , had it on a horse once on its side, must of grazed against a gate post out hunting. Athletes foot cream will sort problem out in few days. 👍👍
