Morning, just wondering if any member has any views on Hyundai chainsaws as the are selling on internet 62cc saws for £129. Iam currently looking for a back up saw and can’t make my mind up.
Thanks

I saw these and was tempted. I have a hyundai 200cc water pump and a post hole borer which I have had for a few years and admittedly they only get light use but they seem fine.

No idea, but if Landrover were to make a chainsaw I'd buy one of these instead as it'd probably be a damn sight more reliable and a fraction of the cost...

I have a few tools Hyundai, the last 4 cars for instance and all, except the first were ultra reliable and as their design capability and flair progressed, better than many mainstream brands. I had a P38, a Mercedes truck and became fed up with the costs of keeping them. Hyundai cars are very good and I would not now choose anything else.
I have a backpack blower excellent tool maybe £140 when Stihl were £600. I had a fuel supply problem with the machine and it was corrected by Hyundai with absolutely no quibble and quickly - bought through Amazon. Other tools are v good value and I would recommend them. Excepting cars which I use everyday. I use the other tools occassionally (like the blower) they are lasting well and certainly meeting my needs at very little comparative costs. I would have no problem with a Hyundai chain saw, in fact that might well be my next purchase, if they do an electric version as I have fallen out with the major brands which are now basically Chinese and this is Korean. Korean companies as a whole tend to do things better.

Hi Kes that’s very informative thanks for your input,I think I might just give it a go. It would be fine if we have a member to reply who has one with their honest opinion.

I had one, it was fine till I used the wrong oil/petrol mix. My bad.
I am not a professional so don’t need an all day machine. I cut about 12 to 15 cubic meters a year as all my heating and hot water is done with the woodburner. Currently using a draper chain saw. I got a good deal.

The cheap ones should last you 4 or 5 years, subject to correct mix, cough, even longer if you look after them. Then when they break, buy another one. Cost more to get it serviced.

Of course if you need it for professional reasons, then, ask someone else. But for my use, yeah, it was fine.
