Nice afternoon scaring pigeon off barley.
Some nice wing shots and some taken from under sitting trees. No deeks, just me staying hidden, move hide move hide.
Got 8, 2 missing.
Dog is going to eat well, Mrs was complaining about the price of dog food so I said I'll bring some pigeon and boil them up, Jess likes that.
Then the Mrs mentioned that for how much the cartridges cost we could buy top dollar grub for the dog!
Why do they do that, women, women that have dozens of shoes but only use a couple of pairs, dozens of hand bags that get hidden and covered in dust from no use!
She has a point but pointed out that this way keeps her husband ;
A, happy.
B, out of the house.
So everyone is a winner!
Oh yeah, the photos...IMG_20230705_151459.webp

Tonight's going to be busy also. Got a fox coming to bait!

To add to that, I’ve been thinking about hunting out some 2inch carts in #8 or #9 shot for rats scuttling about in the outhouses on cousins farm. I normally use my 9mm garden gun for this, which works, but the price and availability of the little floberts is getting a bit silly tbh.

I have found the 9mm garden gun one of the most useless firearms if it can even be called that, I vividly remember shooting a plastic bottle full of water at about 8 yards when the shot bounced off the bottle back at me!!

I can't see how this gun can be used in any useful capacity lol. The cheapest airgun you can find would probably be more use!

Bollocks....the fox turned up, snatched a pigeon and took off, stopped it , took aim, fired fox ran off 🤦.
I'll do a search tomorrow but it looked ok. Bollocks....

Old age SD is creeping up on you mate 🤦‍♂️
I’ll book you in at specsavers 😂
atb pal
Lol, I've been and had a look. It returned a couple hours later. It or something took the pigeon it dropped after the shot.
It looks ok so that's good. I'll check the rifle later.
The only thing I can remember is that there was a shallow rise of the field between me and the fox and I'm just wondering ( or looking for excuses) whether it clipped some grass on the way....???

Keep telling yourself that! 😂

I know when i see a fox in my scope my adrenaline goes way up and when that happens the fine motor skills goes out the window!

Yerr, limited range for sure, but the rws #10 shot throw a decent enough pattern for rats inside the buildings without doing any peripheral damage. For that, they’re ideal.

Thot does happen sometimes but last night it was a hurried situation, I'm generally ok in hurried situations, it's when I've stalked one up I can get the colliewobbles
This is why I like going for the chest. The thought I may of jawed it by pulling a bad head shot would of had me awake all night!

Great way to spend a day mate well done👍

Much love for the .410 here also😉

Both from a quick mooch in the woods looking for a good spot to roost shoot from
I swapped my .410 hushpower for a side by side .410 as I also have a 20gauge hushpower, but seeing your photos has made me think, do I need another 🤔. All the hushpowers seem a bit thin on the ground now though, don’t seem to come up for sale very often, and when they do they seem to sell straight away. They certainly fill a niche 😉👍

Having recently added a 20g mossberg 500 hushpower to the cabinet I was on the fence about how much use the .410 would get and I did consider selling it as the 20g hushpower will cover all my bases but there is something nice about grabbing the .410 and going for a walk.

If you see one for sale I'd grab it as like you say they dont hang around for long and if you feel like you dont use it as much as you thought you could easily recover the cost when selling it on.

I m going to let my freind use it when I'm out in the hide bashing crows.

I'm keeping my eye out for a 12g one now when in will have all three
