I'm surprised to see the leaves still on the trees in that last picture, I would have thought they would have burnt off?

yes but the mental strain and pressure is immense. Tims (house above) mate lost his 800 acres and at an age where you can never get back again.

Its the balance of heat and moisture content. Enough heat the eucys just explode or give off the oil in vapour and the leaves will resemble carbon. Of course nature is selective also,some burn others stay on the trees which will drop them and most of the trees will come back.
