Looking for best harness for tracking with a small GSP. I have a 15 mtr line and she rips to the end. Prey drive is great but don't want to brake my arm of snap her neck lol.

I use the Non-Stop harnesses, specifically the Line harness. My 3.5yo 27kg Mali has used it for tracking and bite-work for over a year now and its excellent. Strong, comfortable, good when wet. And the attachment is far enough back to let the line lie properly, and allow the dog to pull safely.

Niggeloh harnesses, very pretty. Bought by dog owners to make them feel good. I think I paid about a tenner for a harness for the pup and now he uses the Kopov's old harness again about a tenner.
Tracking leads need to be about 10 mtrs long. Biothane ones get less tangled up and the orange washing line type work well. A 30 mtr lead is just ridiculous.
If the dog is pulling it needs some training.
Some of these threads about dogs running down and holding deer sound like they come from the, Pikey hand book on running dogs.
If people are getting so many runners perhaps they should up their shooting skills.

My Line is 10mtr. She is fast but is a pointer so she steady's when nearing the carcase. She does not hold and i am happy with that would allow me for a second shot if needed.

I run a 5m line on my Teckel but usually don't hang on to it, letting it trail on the ground. If he decides to "go off on one" I can quickly stamp on the line to stop him given he's normally one metre to my rear. Similarly, when taking the shot, I just stand on it just in case the urge to run in is too great for him  10m yellow rubberised longline from Lidl cut in half.
