I'm famous (Sc*mwatch Facebook Page)

May I suggest that any direct links to the Facebook page are deactivated. The admins on the page can see the source of the traffic and will doubtless be trawling this forum already.

Done just deleted them would appear most people have had a look by now anyway

I have to say, there are some dodgy looking characters on there... the bloke with the terrier with it's face covered in blood and the photo with 2 dead foxes and shovels. I wouldn't want to be associated with these people. There is even a picture of a row of dead badgers.

Did you look at the profile of the people with the badgers and foxes Si? One of the profiles I looked at was for a Danish girl with Patterdales and badger.
They are targeting people from all over the world, so Im afraid you and I are put in with anyone who kills animals, no matter that its legal in the country the person lives, it may not sit well with us (ie domestic cats in Australia)

My question is can they have taken a picture from here off me and placed it on there.

In short, yes. They can screen capture an image of you and get any info/pictures/videos that are anywhere on the internet. They can then do anything they want with it (with varying degrees of legality).

Oh, and...

For all those involved I refer you to the below statute. You might want to consider this and report to you local Police office or re-contact Facebook with this in mind.

Regards.

(a)sends by means of a public electronic communications network a message or other matter that is grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character; or

(2)A person is guilty of an offence if, for the purpose of causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to another, he—

(a)sends by means of a public electronic communications network, a message that he knows to be false,

(b)causes such a message to be sent; or

(c)persistently makes use of a public electronic communications network.

(3)A person guilty of an offence under this section shall be liable, on summary conviction, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale, or to both.

(4)Subsections (1) and (2) do not apply to anything done in the course of providing a programme service (within the meaning of the Broadcasting Act 1990 (c. 42)).

I couldn't care less if my pictures were all over their site or not. Not sure what the fuss is about.

Hmm.... And what about when they find your email address, work or home address and phone numbers and put them up on the page (look further down - it's there several times) for all the haters to use?

I haven't even dared to comment or make myself known to the page organiser or the other scrotes on there because there is so much of a trail left of you on the net that it wouldn't take them long to find out a lot of info about me and, frankly, I would probably end up losing my tickests (at least) and more likely in prison if those shitbags started harrassing my family.

I see your point Saltlick but I think highly unlikely personally. Or else how do the likes of Mike Robinson et al get on? Has he had his house burned down several times and been beaten up etc etc?

Another good reason not to be on FB. I susspened my account 8-12 months ago, no regrets and you realise how fickle some people are, 90% of folk on your FB account arent true friends when it boils down to it.
Do yourself a favour and ditch FB like I did, doubt you will regrett it.

Just had a look at the page on FB isnt it funny how brave people are when sat at a PC and they'll never get to hear that satisfying thump when the bullet hits that big six pointer :D :D

On the other hand you have to be very careful as the green/eco/anti thing is a form of religion and they pursue it with the fervor of religious zealots. One scientist I know published a paper which the green/eco types decided undermined their "man made global warming" religion. It was a peer reviewed paper with no agenda other than to report the science and the bits that countered the man made warming lie were relatively trivial and secondary to the main subject so in no way was it a direct or planned attack on the man made warming lie. He and his family are now living in a new address under false names after a seemingly never ending series of attacks including an attempt to burn them out of their house.

It might not happen to everyone and perhaps it is less likely to happen to high profile figures but the people we are dealing with are at the very far extremes of terrorism and zealotry, remember these people dig bodies out of graveyards as a means of intimidation as a matter of course, and so it is necessary to be very careful even when you don't even suspect that what you are doing, such as science, might inflame their hatred.

Ha ha - I have been badgering FB today about this. Even managed to get some dialogue through emails about this with a REAL person from FB.
I even contacted some police authoritys on facebook about it.
If this recrops I know exactly how to tackle the problem again.

Edit: HA HA - it appears that it was pulled as it was seen as a credible threat of violence!
