The XT may well also be controlled as it's both a rifle scope above 4x magnification and also electronically processes the image.

Again best to check with the Dutch in Willie's link above to make sure before approaching any hapless dutch e-tailers.

Why not beat the prices of the eurozone and give the uk buyer a better deal and keep the trade in the uk ??? ...or i just get my belgian relatives to send me one over for under £340 pound... just found a website offering them and works out at a great price....

I agree that in first instance we should try to keep the deal in the UK, if only because in case of a warranty claim the process will be less bureaucratic and faster.
Therefore I would give a few UK retailers the opportunity to price-match, or at least meet me halfway.
If they than don't want to do that, or don't bother to reply, take your business to another country where they do understand the benefits of long-term sustainable business.

For example a very well-know UK retailer specialising in NV offered me over the phone to meet me halfway. I said I was interested in that (so I told them I was prepared to pay £400 more for a piece of kit just to have the security of the UK warranty!). Than they back-tracked and said they would have to make some calculations and would get back to me that same afternoon. They didn't, so they lost my business on this occasion, and for all other potential future occasions.
When I emailed them to explain that they had given me the wrong information (They claimed I required a BIS Import License, which is simply not true) and why they had now lost my business, they didn't reply.
