I can only tell you that I got stung for it when I ordered a Smartclip adaptor for my Krypton, so I would think so.Anybody know if theres any tax/import duties charged when it arrives in the UK if i get a scope from optics trade eu
It's my understanding that either Optics trade eu will charge you VAT at 20% at the time of purchase, or if they don't, you'll have to pay the VAT when the good s arrive in the UKAnybody know if theres any tax/import duties charged when it arrives in the UK if i get a scope from optics trade eu
I ordered a scope form them recently, I chose DHL shipping and had to pay VAT and duty, etc to DHL. Still worked for out marginally cheaper than UK sellers, but the main motivator for me was that the UK stockists were all quoting huge lead times for the model I wanted. I had it in a couple of weeks from Optics-trade.euAnybody know if theres any tax/import duties charged when it arrives in the UK if i get a scope from optics trade eu
If it helps ask them about sending to NI (including price) which in customs terms is still subject to EU rules. If reply is favourable then pm me.thanks chaps , the scope is the same price here as they are charging , but as said talking up to three months lead time here , i have sent them an email asking the question but am waiting a reply , it is advertised as tax free but im slightly wary of that
Cheers foxy your a gent sir , will ask the question but they dont seem to be the quickest on replies , will let you know what they sayIf it helps ask them about sending to NI (including price) which in customs terms is still subject to EU rules. If reply is favourable then pm me.

Interesting from my perspective up North, thanks.I am not sure what exactly you pay when ordering from the EU but it is possibly the same when we in Ireland order from UK now that it is outside the EU. We do not pay VAT on the purchase to the UK but we do pay it on entry to Ireland. However the payment of VAT is on the cost of the item PLUS the cost of carriage and also (i think) on the collection charge by the carrier. There are no tariffs on goods that i have looked at but that may not be true in the case you are referring to. You would need to check that yourself.
All told it makes it uneconomic for me to purchase from UK unless the item is very cheap to begin with so i am thinking you may well be in the same boat.
I ordered a Zeiss scope & mounts from Optics Trade-EU on the 18 May, the invoice indicated that the VAT charged was at 22% (clearly the VAT rate in Slovenia, Irelands is 23%). As it's coming to Ireland there will be no other tariffs.
However it still has not been dispatched despite a multiplicity of emails and assurances of good service by the company. My frustration level is through the roof! I'm hoping this is just an unusual misfortune, not some evidence of skulduggery.
as i said the scope in optics warehouse is £595 , but the lead time is two / three months , the scope in xtreme tactical ( who ive ordered through ) is £585 less 5% discount , should be here within 10 days , scope in optics rade eu is £580 delivery £25 1-3 days , then when scope arrives in the country , bang goes on the tax and duty , totally out pricing the scope , and yet there is a misleading little sign on the dvert saying tax free
