Insert Barrels or einsteckhauf

Hello from North Carolina USA

I've been searching for a quality full length insert barrel to install in my 16 gauge double barrel. There is one source in Alaska that supplies them for all of the U.S, but when I found the site for Keppeler in Germany an looked at their design I was very impressed. After contacting them they informed me that they did not ship to the US. I subsequently looked up firms such Keller & Simms and other European makers of insert barrels or einstecklaufs but ran into the same problem. I was wondering as you are located in Europe, England I assume, that you may have contacts with firms or agencies that would sell me two insert barrels in 45-70gov to fit a 16 gauge double barrel shotgun and mail them to me or if required by your law to my certified Federal Firearms License agent in North Carolina. I hope I haven't been insensitive or forward in making this request and I do it with all due respect. I hope Donald Trump, who I detest, hasn't ruined our relationship and I apologize for everything he's done to insult your nation.

Try Zimmerman in Germany - I just got one of their insert barrels.

Also have a look at the Nitro Express forum. There is a whole thread on converting double shotguns into double rifles. Having now got an insert I don't think it would be difficult to start off with a blank and make one. Plenty in the us make rifle barrels.

PoppiFett while it would be possible in theory for a site member to order the barrels and have them delivered to a U.K. address for forwarding on to you, they would need to have the necessary authority on their individual firearms certificates (FAC) to possess the two chambered barrels if they were not Registered Firearms Dealers (RFDs). So it would be highly unlikely that anyone would be prepared to go to all the bother of applying for the necessary variation on their personal FAC with possible costs only to forward them to you.
On the other hand there are many RFDs on this site and one of them may be prepared to order and transfer the barrels to you but the costs involved would almost certainly not be worthwhile.
Unlike in the U.S.A. we cannot simply go out and purchase spare barrels in the U.K. without first possessing the necessary lawful authority.

Krieghoff makes full-length rifle barrel inserts which affix at the muzzle of the shotgun and can be adjusted to the the point of aim of the sights. They have dealers here in the USA. I don't know how well they work with other brands of shotguns, but have always been curious. If I ever sell my drillings, a Krieghoff drilling with a rifle insert would be high on my list for a replacement.
