Installing a bi pod stud/adapter

So I have just bought my first rifle. A pre 2019 Mauser M12 Extreme.
I was wanting to install a bipod adapter to it.
But the swivel for the sling is right at the front of the forend and not on the bottom.
So is it easy enough to install a stud/adapter yourself or does it require a trip to the gun shop?

Done it with a few rifles - some with a screw in and two with an inside nut. As ever measure twice drill once and just make sure you have enough fore-end material and clearance from the barrel underside.

Very easy to install a stud, from your description, just make sure you don't drill into the existing stud (or remove it first)
