Interesting Panorama Programme "The Green Energy Scandal Exposed"

I believe that they are now leaving slightly longer stumps at times as in time a lot of nutrients held within go back into the soil which helps the restock.

Yes the trend was edging toward ripping them out and chipping them but we decided that would destroy whatever little soil there was so did not bother
We did ours between 4 and 7 years ago and we have some trees now over 20 ft - I have been creating rides with a machine so thick is the regen

Burning Trees, is releasing current co2, that will be captured by other trees and plants. A renewable source.

Burning Coal or oil or gas, is burning several Hundred millions years of stored up co2 in just 200 years, which increases the total amount in a closed cycle.

And makes the planet warmer, making weather patterns unpredictable and can alter crop yields and precipitation patterns all over and make several rivers dry up.

Writing good or perfect laws with regards to Green Energy, is not easy when Oil,Gas,Coal countries hires lobbyists, as well as Oil,Gas,Coal companies hires lobbyists, spending $Billions, to write poor new laws. Just look how Russia got Germany to cut out Nuclear to get them even more dependent on Gas.

A true conservationist / Green energy person would welcome Nuclear energy as a dependable base load..

I once nearly took a post at Drax and queried at interview the " negative carbon" tag.
Laughable really even when provided information with an ounce of common sense and reality but then Green energy is the solution that never was..... totally subsidy reliant.

Funny thing was I spoke with a friend of a friend, who worked there, some six months later to find most of the workforce is out on stress due to an antiquated plant.

I am well aware of the problems here in theory. However, I finally caught up with the programme today. I found the footage of old growth forest being clear felled fpr rich men to grow even richer very difficult to watch. This (Canada) is a first world country and it can not be dismissed as a bunch of crazy dagoes who know no better.

I'd say more likely lazy and/or poor operators on the harvester.

Folk do get pulled up[ for laving high stumps by foresters althou not often they are made to go back and cut them lower, if they do usually send a poor hand cutter in to do it as cheaper.
