Not a great dealFor roe in Scotland 223 is fine. Have you done any rifle shooting?
I didn't bother putting in for a RF at the moment. Don't really have a need right now. I have a sub 12 .22 Air rifle that for the time being does what I want it to do for Rabbits/ Rats and feral pigeons around the farm buildings. Can take on anything in the UK with one those two and you wont ever really need anything else besides a RF or Whatever if we loose lead for the rimfires . 223 is ok for rabbits anyhow just takes the head off

223 is an ideal beginners rifle mark. And probably cheaper to run than some bigger calibre rifles if your not reloading your own ammo. Not a great deal

Here's hopingYou've hunted with an airgun. Deer won't be any harder than trying to get into range of a bunny with airgun.
Especially easy when they come round the house...With the rapid growth in deer numbers. There getting rather easy to hunt. Rather shot a fox any day.
Got that sorted, the Father in law is a Retired ButcherNot so easy is yo find a butcher or game dealer. Get them roe shot.
