Introducing myself..

A compulsory introduction so I had better write one.

Rifles a life time of adding and removing ended up with a few some favourites and one or two unusual. Optics mostly German. Binoculars mainly Austrian bar a hill scope Invernesian. Vehicle well it’s a pick up of oriental parent company and southern African manufacturer. Tyers a subject that interests. I do have some access to sweed speed for longer trips the Audiesk five cylinder warble is an attractive thing. Clothing normally from the land of the long clouds. Roe fanatic.

Live in the northern half of our beautiful islands. However the occasional trip south. Interested in all aspects of rural existence. Have not really entered the world of turrets twiddly bits and extreme anything. I enjoy the simplicity of solo stalking and indeed hunting in the wilder places. I enjoy simple kit with a very low carbon content. I rather admire the tradition amongst roe stalkers on the continent. I am not sure how much I will post I need to see always busy with work.

As a closing comment I try to be out doing it rather than writing about it or watching it on YouTube.. one of my children wisely commented a few years ago “dad why are you watching someone roe stalking you should be out doing it”. I rather agree.

I would also like to thank the late Hargreaves for influencing (ancient influencer!)… many of us of certain age .. my very close friend and stalking man tells me his granny used to call him through for “his” program. Mine used to do the same such magical programs at the time …they look from a different ago now as does JC s Jacks game.

Best wishes

Out of town.

Welcome.

I fully agree regarding Mr Hargreaves.
Thank you for your comment re Mr H. I was looking at some of his work the other day it appears to be trickled out onto YT at the moment. Although the film quality is of its time they are beautiful done. I was watching one in particular on long netting for rabbits and it’s all filmed on location then Mr H does his voice over in that rather calm informative way of his there is a genteel ness that has been lost. Content being informative with out the pressure of click count or subscribe numbers .. anyway as I said in my little intro bit we of a certain generation have much to thank him for .. a personal view of course! Something I have been meaning to have a go at for some time long netting it’s not an easy thing .. we will need to wait for some winter darkness and wind to get the rabbits well out into the fields.

Notwithstanding the twelve years it took you to write it, your introduction was fairly decent.:)

Another fan of Jack.
Been thinking about it some time my dear boy! Don’t think I realised I had to do one until this morning! My apologies for my long absence and record breaking slow start! I guess there is something that tells you when someone joined ? Thank you
