Introducing myself

Evening all,

After reading many threads from this forum in the search for advice, knowledge and opinion on rifle shooting related subjects I’ve finally signed up. I’ve been a shotgun shooter for many years, my main quarry being wood pigeons, and now I have been fortunate enough to gain fox and roe permissions. I’m new to the rifle world and I intend to use this forum to learn more as I go.
As of yet no rifle owned, that’s how new I am. FAC still pending. But from research, a Tikka T3X .243 is my intended first rifle. But not sure which particular model, there are many. I will post another thread shortly to discuss this.

As for now from what I’ve seen so far this seems to be a great online community!

Thanks

Welcome.

Think twice on the .243 especially with the likely coming of non-lead restrictions. I e always held that the .308 is a much better starter cartridge. Every cartridge kills in the right place. However, you simply have so much more margin for error with a larger projectile.

Welcome from Manc. area.
❤️ the handle.
Ken.
Ps. You’ll be fine with a 243,
‘specially as for fox and roe but the 243 will do reds if needed.
