IR Torch Issue

I just purchased an Infiray Tube TD70L V2 NV Scope, took it out on a walk and was focusing it in at 50m, cant fault the clarity of picture etc, but the IR torch when turned out seems to be blinking/fluctuating which makes it very annoying. I will be getting a new IR torch soon just wondering if anyone has come across this. Video of this linked below.

Most drivers will have a blink function to indicate low power.

If it's a new torch, then try it with another known good battery.

If it's been used, then also clean the tail cap threads on the body and cap with switch cleaner as any grease or dirt here will introduce resistance to the circuit.

If none of that helps then it's a poor connection internally, usually the earth to the driver board.

A lot of cheap torches will have these clamped with a screw down retaining ring. I've seen one 'wonder torch' manufacturer make this connection by whacking the edge of the pill with a chisel in attempt to crimp the driver in place and make a connection that way.

Ours are fully soldered and we don't find that much of an issue. Might as well do it right for the sake of the correct equipment, technique and an extra minute of our time in the whole manufacturing process.

Was the battery, new one installed and works great, just a little weak, only seeing out to 200 with it.
Anyone use a pbir with their infiray?

Don't fanny around, buy a Ludicrous lumens Wraith ESL and an adjustable mount - it's all you'll ever need without adding too much weight to your set up

Hi Gary,

We have nothing but great feedback for the Dark Engine Blade with the TD70 (one customer tested everything):

This will fill the field of view on base mag with no hot spot in the beam whiting out the image. No wobble to the focus mechanism and the beam doesn't wander off in odd directions when you adjust the focus.

Despite it being the very smallest and lightest high power IR you can buy, you will see very well to 500 yards and well enough another 500 beyond that to check your backdrop.

It's very good value considering it's designed and made in the UK with a lifetime warranty, not a parts bin cobble of cheap standard Chinese torch parts made on someones kitchen table.

If you mount it at 45 degrees on a low standard qr 1" scope mount, you can tuck it in between the turrets of the scope and you won't even notice it's on the rifle.

Cheers
