Iron sights

After noon all.

Does any know if you can buy iron sights to fit onto a tikka t3x with a Picitinny rail on? Front and rear. I’ve been looking and can’t seem to find any.

Many thanks.

Or get a variation and buy second hand. There will be literally thousands of old rifles languishing on RFD racks with iron sights cheap and with acceptable enough barrels to achieve the levels of acceptable accuracy for the type of shooting you’ll do with iron sights.

Everything about older rifles was designed with iron sights and this thpe of shooting - stock, sporter design, easy to mount, low sight picture etc.

I took the scope off an old 243 and went back to using its iron sights to iron sights and it fits so much better now.

Have you looked at the parts for the T3 Battue? That has iron sights for driven shooting, and Brownells shows the front and rear sight as stock numbers.
The rear sight appears to fit on the initial taper of the barrel, so forward of the dovetail

Bear in mind the foresight either needs soldering on, or a dovetail cutting in it (if there’s enough meat). Also, that the drop (or lack of it) on modern rifles is not iron sight friendly - you’ll be needing to jam your cheek into the stock to be able to look through them. Ok for a coup-de-grace but harder for longer shots.

However, Recknagel have plenty of foresight options, along with weaver mount (ie picatinny) rear sights. Should be quite a few different options for rears actually

Skinner sights might be the answer. They make an integrated Picatinny rail aperture sight assembly for the T3.

For the front sight you could order a front sight from Sako. Order the T3x front sight. (Canadian C19) This sight clamps onto the barreltikka-t3x-front-sight-675x450.webp American_full_Rail_5672ede2-7148-41d0-a6ba-30d0400b88da.webp
