Is this a mk1 BSA airsporter?

Jumping in fellas. I've an airsporter guessing late seventies that's grooved for a scope. But which mounts and scope to fit. I think I put this same question a couple or three years ago. Cheers.

Yes looks like a mk1, the later ones had a screw in reciever,your looks like it all in one, think they changed in the mid 60's.
They came with a leather piston washer, probably not the most effective seal, don't know if you could upgrade to ptfe or not, might require a piston assembly change.

It's not mine Griff. I was only given the task of fixing the trigger. It will probably end up for sale in the shop. The shop keeper looks after me .
I've seen seals on line.

back on to the airsporter I drilled and tapped the reciever and fitted a strip of pickatiny for a scope.

hi David I'll take a pic in the morning.
all you do is run a piece of cotton from the front sight to the rear to get a straight line to mark for the holes.then drill and tap the holes using the pre drilled holes on the rail.make sure the holes are not in the compression part of the stroke.then you can either put a scree in making sure it does not foul the spring or a stud with a nut and washer to hold the rail.
it sounds complicated but it really is easy.
also for extra ridgety a layer of epoxy under the rail.

Heck, with the auto tap it's dam near full auto!

I've got RWS "C" mounts on my 1994 RB2 airsporter.

I had a BSA Airsporter but mine was an under lever cocking mechanism with a fixed barrel and swivel pellet loader, I should have kept it!!

tried to get a picture but it's to dicy getting to it as I'm on crutches after a broken leg.
to be fair all you can see are two holes as I've took the rail off.

As was mine, i bought it new in 1967 and there wasn't an introduced bird that was safe in the neighbourhood or cat from an introduction.

So I've got the trigger fixed on this old girl of an air rifles and although power is down I think it would take a rabbit head shot at 25yards. It is quite accurate.
Any clues on age etc. The tap opens automatically.

What prefix is the serial, I think it started at G if it’s a .22 then GA etc. The stocks are often cracked on these, yours looks a nice example.

Unfortunately it's all chewed up where the number is. Looks like GB

Stock is good.
