Is this case head separation

I had a box of factory Hornady recently and only loaded it a couple of times and got what you see in my photo. It's as soft as cheese.
Maybe their new brass for reloaders is good but the factory ammo brass maybe something different!!

my various 17 hornet cases are the same, using lee dies, reloaded them several times yet to have a problem.

Ok I'll do the paper clip thing make sure either inside is good and I'll go from there hopefully all ok this is why I like this forum cos I'd have no one else to ask hahaha

Oddly enough I found a hornet case in my pocket whilst at work and thought well least this one is ok, ... I started polishing it whilst I was standing there and got it all moves and shiny and it has developed these rings on it, I am starting to think it is just the cases

You are worrying over someone else's cast offs, get yourself some new brass & watch how things develop.

Cut one in half and have a look. Far easier than using a paper clip.

No offence, but It really is easier to use a paper clip! I've checked a case using a clip while sitting at my desk reading this. No tools or workshop required. But then I think those look like die or chamber marks. IME, separation signs are paler and usually associated with cartridges people like to drive hard, or classic cartridges in rifles with excess headspace... But the paper clip will tell all.

When polishing, are you rotating around the case, or along the length of it? The marks I see in the case appear similar to the lee loader when the case twists in the die. Try the paperclip, then purchase some new cases if any doubt

So this polish was just me watching my machine running with the brass in my hand polishing with a tag hahahaha and I'm using lee load single press and the brass has been reloaded using hornady full length resizing die

Looks like the marking from the shell holder to me! If i chucked all my brass with that ring i wouldn't have any brass
