Just back from my very quick day trip to Arran. Didn't hear any stags roaring,didnt expect to hear any due to the wind. Saw a few on the sheltered hillsides round Lochranza.

My friend got a spiker this a.m. & the stalker he is paired with git an 8 pointer last night.
He didn't say if anything else had been shot on other beats.

I've had two for the week but seen mainly hinds and my stalking partner had a miss. There's 3 shot this morning I don't know the total but I reckon it's around 10-12 so far. We've seen 30 hinds in small groups but it's very dense forestry block. Lots of sign of deer about. No rut and no roaring at our beat. I'll do a write up when I get home as reception is pants.

We`ve not heard anything off Our Martin 2013. He was up there last week. I wonder how he got on after the thousand odd mile round trip he had to make with a sick bag under his nose
